Default ripped off!

Hi all.
I brought a R reg Audi A4 1.8T
Turns out it has been clocked!! Dial reads 94,000 actual milage 144,000
Also the fuel pump is faulty and needs replacing.....is it worth getting it repaired?

Thanx in advance for any advice.

Well you own it and you spent money on it and it's only a pump so yes but I would also report the clocking as you may be able to get your money back better still phone the seller and advise him you have caught on to his tricks and you want your money back or you are going to the Police.

Default Thanks

Hi thanks for you reply,
Did all that; police dropped the case as they cannot prove he did not buy the car already clocked!!
Although this guy is selling loads of cars on Autotrader and they all suspiciously have low milage and are all Audi's and VW's
I have not sent the log book off and crossed out my name so i don't officially own the car. I called the seller and asked for my money in return for the car but he refused; even went to trading standards.
not sure what to do, would be such a shame to scrap it......not to mention the lost money also it has a wicked stereo (concert bose) I could get ripped out and sold.
Just need to get some return for it......Do you recon I would get anything if i advertise it as previously clocked, cause i know the actual milage its on the MOT cert (which had been doctored) I have a copy from the test centre!
I could get it put back to the original milage. Who would want a car with 144,000 on the clock!!!!!!

Police are crap had the same problem and in the end trading standards did nothing but as some of the cars are Audi's trading standard could check with Audi what the mileage was on the last service as Audi UK keep all the records of there cars that pass through a Audi dealership. Point out to the Police/Trading Standards that the guy is selling loads of low mileage cars and that a quick check would confirm and irregularities if more than one are different.

In the end you would have to take him to a small claims court to get your money (If your lucky) or you might want to try and bluff him by going round there and taking all the number plate number and tell him on the phone you are going to tell the police that you suspect him of clocking all the cars and the police and trading standard people will be all over him and you will make his life hell by having other people report him to.

He may think it's cheaper and less hassle to pay you out.
