Passenger Door will not lock

Hi i have a A4 Tdi 6 years old,
the passenger door will not lock with either the key fob or the key in the door. all the other doors lock with central locking system, the indicators do not flash when the key fob is pressed to lock the car, but the lights do flash when the car in unlocked with the key fob. As there is no other way to lock the passenger door (i think) this is causing a problem with my sleep when the car is left unattended overnight.
Any help with this will be greatly recieved.

a small wire had broke in the rubber housing going from the body to the door, bridged the broken wires and now it locks ok.
