Default A4 Engine wont start - fine 2 days ago

Hi Chaps,

I have a 1996 A4 1.8T Sport and its always started fine, even if I've left it for a week.

Today after 2 days off work, frost and rain the car won't start - had to call in sick with the flu!!

Engine turns over but fails to start, petrol is low on sensor in car just on red but only just. fans come on fine in car and loads of vaults on battery.

Is this just damp? any ideas maybe 5 points I should do to check - maybe spray lightly with WD40???

Thanks in advance.

Firts off check to see if you a spark and then have a look at the state of the plugs if they need changing (best off change them anyways) them to NGK BKR6E for standard turbo cars.

Gapped at 0.028 for remapped.
Gapped at 0.032 for standard.

If no joy there maybe the crank sensor or even the coolant sensor.

Default Fixed!!!

Thanks for the reply bud will change the spk plugs anyway.

Basically popped into garage round the corner who do my mot's - first thing they asked was "have you moved the car?" Well yes i had very briefly as it wasn't in its space correctly. Didnt know that this caused the engine to flood with fuel!!

He told me to get back into the car put my foot on the accelerator and to turn the ignition key until it started - after about 30-40 seconds it did!!!

Thanks again - also my brother has just started working for Audi in Salisbury so if anybody is thinking of looking for a new Audi - Tim is the man to ask for.
