Well, I bought the Ross Tech Code reader and this is what it came up with:
17524- Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor Heating; B1S1: Open Circuit P1116 - 004 - No Signal/Communication - MIL On Readiness: 0110 1001 This same O2 Sensor was replaced about a year ago by the mechanic because of the same error. He used an OEM replacement sensor. Anyone have any advice on what my problem may be? Assuming the sensor isn't bad which I know is a possibility, is there a connection somewhere that's prone to failure or a spot where a wire may have chafed through the insulation and is grounding out? On an unrelated and less important note I also pulled up the following error for the Driver's seat: 01330 - Central Control Module for Central Convenience (J393) 79-00 - Please check Faut Codes I'd appreciate any light you all can shed on that topic too. Thanks, Jon |

It could be some wiring, did you clear the code and see how long till it came back? I'm guessing wiring as I really doubt another one went bad in 1 year. Do you know from the code whether it's the pre or post sensor? Something may be shredding the wire between there, but the mechanic should have seen that when he pulled the first one.

I did clear it and it came back the next time the next time the car was driven. I'm not sure exactly how long it took as it's my wife's car and she didnt' notice it until she turned it off when she got to work the next morning. I think it's pre-cat but that's just based on the B1S1 designation. I'm thinking that's bank 1, sensor 1 and assuming the sensors are number sequentially from the motor back.
