Unhappy Can no-one help re: the power loss problem?

Any suggestion would be really helpful concerning the power loss problem on the audi 2.5 tdi v6. All details are in the topic below and any suggestions will be most welcome!

Most likely cause would be the MAF (mass airflow) sensor near the air filter. This wouold also cause some black smoke, very reduced MPG and restriction in the engine max RPM. Although it might be helpfull to elaborate on the symptoms a bit.
