Question RS4 Sat nav confusion

HI all. I know this may be a slightly lame question but I can't seem to get to the bottom of this one.

I bought a 2001 RS4 Avant some weeks ago and it has the Sat Nav pro system built in but the actual CD-ROM that came with the car was UK/Ireland 2002. It looks pretty rubbish and is very out of date. There is also no post code entry etc. So I went on eBay and bought a 2006/2007 BLUAPUNKT full version for my RNS4.1 system. It's totally compatible.

I put the cd in and then it says installing software etc, then the navigation software starts and it's looks just the same. I go in to look at the software version and it's still the same as the oriinal CD, it still looks the same as the old CD.

Anyone got any ideas what I'm doing wrong. The version is correct for the system. It's a DX version and is right for the RNS 4.1 system I have. It says it's installing software etc but nothing chages.

Is there some kind of default i can do to the system? Or has it a protection on it that can be bypassed?

I have VAG-COM software as well. Is there something in there that might default the system?

Also, anyone know how to bypass the TV off block so passengers can watch the telly while the car is moving. Believe me, I have no wish myself to watch it! I like watching the road!

Thanks

Dave.

Hey man. Thanks so much. There's so much more to do than just bung the CD in!
I'll let you know how I get on.
Dave.

Hi there.
thanks for the reply. Didn't resolve the issue I'm affraid. Tons of great info though and turns out I have the latest firmware already installed so no issue there. Just don't know why it's not working like it says it should on the tin, so to speak!
