Default A4 1.8T (B5 or B6) tuning questions

i'm seriously considering purchasing a GIAC chip from AWE Tuning, because the hp and tq gains are awesome. I'd like to talk to someone who has moderately tuned their A4 with a GIAC chip.

also, what other mods other than exhaust and intake should i do if i want to get the most out of the stock turbo? is a diverter valve a good investment? what about new intercooler piping?

DV will be a must as they tend to pack in once you start running more boost (have a look at APR's new type) if you are going to do the intercooler piping then have a look at Autobahn88 Silicone pipes as they are as good has Samco's and about half the price (Just fitted them my self).

I would not bother with intake as the stock unit works much better than an open filter and you will loose power rather than gain as it will be sucking in hot air and loose the Ram air effect that the current system provides.

Have you thought about a front mount intercooler?, or better still an FMIC incorporating a charge cooler. The more you can lower your charge temps the better really.

It would only be worth doing if he was going for a big turbo conversion otherwise he would loose about 1-2psi but the he could get a MBC and crank it up a little to claw back the psi.
