Can anyone help?
My Audi A4 has developed an issue with the Central locking system it does not work!. I can hear the pump working though. I have managed to lock all of the doors from inside but I can't seem to lock the boot lid, furthermore the key does not turn in the boot lock. Is this all linked due to the failure? How can I get the boot to lock? ![]() |

how long can you hear the pump running for?
If it's over 3 or 4 seconds you most likely have a vacuum/pressure leak in one of the tubes at the front doors, the pump connector/s or the junction behind the drivers seat. Your 97 A4 should have a vacuum controled boot lock, and standard 'one touch' unlock of all doors and boot. Has the battery been disconected recently? Are you using a different key than normal? |

You can hear the pump for about 20 seconds.
I was driving the car a few days ago and locked the doors from inside using the button on the drivers door, I could hear a weird noice and then after that the button did not work. The key that I am using is an additional set that I obtained from Audi? I'm not too bothered with sorting the CL, I only want to be able to lock the damn boot! |
