Default Hi everyone. Warranty Question...

Hi all

I have an A4 which has just run out of warranty (10th May).

The car had warranty work completed at the end of last year on the Multitronic gear box/clutch (replaced clutch plate due to shuddering). No problems with this but the car has since developed another clutch related problem (although slightly different to the first).

The problem now is a problem with selecting reverse gear. When the car is cold I have to give it lots of revs to get get it to move (in reverse only). When it does move it only creeps, still with lots of revs, as if the clutch is slipping/not fully engaged. Anyone come accross this before

Do you think I have any hope of claiming against the manufacturers warrany or is there no chance?

I would like to know what the general consencus is on this one as I fear I could be facing a rather large bill soon

Thanks

Chris

You have a very good chance for 100% good will from customer care if you have a full history with audi and you had the box oil changed at 40,000 miles(it would have been changed when the repair was carried out).100%should cover parts but may not include labour.Get it booked in and ask the question.Cant comment on the latest fault as there are few things it may be.Regards Jon

Thanks, that's a bit more reassuring.

Everything previously has been done by the book so they should be happy on that front. It's booked in next week so I should know more then. The faults not that bad, I'm sure the majority of people wouldn't realise but I'm sure it will develop further.

Fingers crossed...

Hi,

I have no problem with Audi on warrantee issues. If its just out of warrantee, I bet they will sort it.
If the clutch has had work on, I would say that selecting a gear falls into the same category.
I have found Audi very loyal when you maintain the services.
I have had 4 new Audis now & I’ve had warrantee work (out of warrantee period by 3 months once!).
Hope all works out.

Thanks

I'll find out next week as the car is booked in. I still have the option to take out the Audi extended warranty. Unfortunately it's £700 for 1 year for the warranty so I doubt i'll be taking it out... Probably end up kicking myself though!
