Default throttle body cleaning advice needed

hi, i need to clean the throttle body on a 1.8 1996 non turbo a4...

the question is, when i remove the throttle body from the engine bay will it be obvious what i have to clean? or will i have to take it apart ? do i need any specific cleaning products, or is it litrally a case of getting a rag and cleaning the crap out of it ?

also once i put it back on it will need to be reset on the computer, the garge where i will do this is about 6 miles out, will it be ok to drive whilst it hasnt been reset ? ive been told it will idle high but that is all.

any feedback, tips and advice is much appreicated.
