Can a faulty alternator blow bulbs?

Hey guys, relatively new here and am a rookie when it comes to car issues (but am learning!).

Is it possible for a faulty alternator or faulty voltage regulator to blow bulbs prematurely, without blowing the fuses connected to those circuits?

I've been blowing bulbs like its my job and can't figure out the cause. Of course Audi chalks it up to coincidence. Could an alternator create a power surge which would ripple through the electrical system and kill the bulb without blowing the fuse?

Any help would be much much much appreciated.

i wouldnt expect it to surge just drop out on power...

which bulbs are you blowing?? which type/make of bulbs you using>> could be cheap bulbs??

i use Bosh bulbs on the rear and never had an issue.....

I've burned out the following:

Both front-headlights
Right front turnsignal
Left tail light
Bulb illuminating headlight/foglight dial (located next to steering wheel)

They are all default factory bulbs I believe.

is this the first time you have replaced the above... ie once???

Yes, each bulb has burned out only once. However it seems to fade away, rather than burn out.

i would keep your eye on it it then.,,, if its the first time you have changed the bulbs, just see how long the replacements last....
