Question Need help with Delta radio

Hello everyone! I am brand new to this forum and am enjoying your helpful information.

I have a 1997 A8 with a Audi Delta radio. The previous owner removed the CD changer and cut the wires. It looks as if they wired in another CD changer but it did not come with the car.

When I got the car the radio was in safe mode. Thankfully I did have the code to unlock the radio. The radio seems to be functioning but no sound. I have no volume out of any speaker.

I went to the trouble of splicing the cut wires back to the original connector in the trunk but still no sound.

Any ideas? Does the CD changer need to be connected to get sound from the radio? Help!
