What a disappointment. An A4 with both satellite and i pod is not a good combination. Cross talk between occurs between them unless the i pod is physically removed from the holder. In other words, you can hear the i pod running in the background while using the sat radio. Also since the i pod and the cd changer share the same circuitry, the volume control and sound quality is terrible. Don't waste your time with an i pod install from the factory at least with the Symphony Concert II radio.

For what it's worth, a conversation with Audi USA yielded the following. "Your dealer should have told you that the 2 components do not work together, either/Or". Had several conversations with the dealer and they didn't know but the tech working on the problem said it was a poor design integration for the i pod to start with.

So the car was back to Audi for the recommended "fix" that was discovered. 1 full day in th shop, same results. The fix was nothing more than a rewire of the same thing. Same problems exists. If playing a song with mixed volume levels (think Phantom of the Opera) the into sections play so softly as to disappear. then when the orchestra comes in, it knocks you out of the seat. In addition, there is cross talk when in the satellite mode unless the pod is removed. Anyone witht he Gateway equipment have comment about a better experience in controlling the i-pod. I'd certainly like to be able to access both i-pod and satellite radio without all the current faults.
