I-pod /satellite overlap

The radio in my 08 A4 is equipped with both factory satellite radio and the i-pod factory prep kit. I've noticed if the i-pod is in its holder but the radio set on satellite mode that there is cross over and both units are actually playing. It is mostly noticable during a lull between songs but on occasion both songs can be heard simultaneously. Does this sound like a factory defect in the radio or a software problem controlling radio circuits. I believe the radio is a Concert II
