Audi 80 Stereo

Hi, I'm having trouble installing a basic Sony Cd player to the wiring looms that were connected to the standard one. No power is getting is getting to my new unit even when it appears to be connected up. Can anyone tell me what colour is the switched power wire in the car loom, and what colour is the continuos power wire in the same loom? I take it its only a wiring problem.I didn't blow anythin because i put the old unit back in again to make sure. Can somebody help? its an audi 80 b4

Hey man, I am having the exact same problem. Was getting no power to head unit. I swapped the yellow and red wires over and when i connected it all up the head unit made the usual powering on whurring noise. However it still does not turn on- obviously there is some power getting to it now though. Anyone got any pointers??

ya i tried that too, and i swapped a couple of the other wires too but nothin has been workin........so i've passed the problem onto my mechanic!!!!
