Channel 62 of the intrument cluster needs to be coded

Use VAG com, module 17 (cluster), adaptations 10, channel 62.

This is only relevant to A3 8L cars prior to 2004.

Hi I have a similar problem with my concert stereo. After having my dash replaced on my TT I can not see any stereo information in the appropriate section of the dash i.e CD and track number or radio station. The warning lights such as low fuel all show fine. To top it off after the dash was replaced my Concert stereo display screen has no back light. If you look close enough at the LCD panel on the stereo you can see the radio station name and cd number etc you are listening to. The stereo buttons are lit up though the when you select any of the buttons the stereo( no 1 -6, TA RDS etc) works fine but the red light on the appropriate notch does not light up.

Audi have had a look and say that the stereo needs replacing. If any one can help then I would be greatful. Simple coincidence this happened after the dash was replaced?

I would doubt that the stereo is faulty after a cluster replacement. I would say that they have messed up.

Ask them to adapt the cluster for the stereo

Thanks, will call them first thing tomorrow. Hopefully they will be willing to do this for me without charging me for diagnostics! Will update the post once I have spoken to them

took the car back to audi this morning. They spent best part of an hour looking into the problem. They said the dash is adapted to the stereo although they had their senior technician look at the problem but could not figure out where the fault was.
They said as I will need a new stereo due to lcd screen not lighting up they can order me one and take it from there. Still not sure and not willing to spend £270 for an exchange stereo until i'm sure the stereo is at fault. Unfortunately they had no other stereo to try with my car to prove where the fault was.

Thanks for your help, need to find someone near by who's concert I can try in mine.

brought a exchange concert through Audi, all lights up but still no display in dash of stereo information. Will have to take it back to AUDI to see if they can adapt this. Do you know how to adapt using VAG COM? (For 2000 Audi TT?)

Just a quick update, Audi took another look at it and have adapted the dash to stereo and all is working not sure they even adapted the first one correctly, glad it's all sorted now.
