Default Metra 99-9105 in 00 A4?

Hello all,

I've just purchased a 2000 A4 W/ the Bose system. Being a compulsive tinkerer, I'm dying to rip out the symphony & put something more modern in it. But I am uncertain if it will work.

Judging from the posts here and elsewhere, none of the dash kits work for this year. But nobody seems to mention part numbers. Has anybody had any luck with this kit? Metra sure seems to think it works.

Sure I will have other questions down the road (wiring in the existing speakers (1 ohm?)), etc.

TIA,
BR

the dash kit will work for your car as long as you have the large OEM radio. you will also need a 70-1787 harness for the install if you plan on keeping the bose system.

Default I've got it...

I have a 2001 Audi A4 with the Symphony Bose system.

The Metra kit i got came with the dash panel, wiring harness and removal keys.

That #99-9105 kit is only the black housing. It supports sinlgle and double din setups. (Double Din involves cutting the two fins on the bottom. Single din requires use of the pocket.)

I used the bose system, so the wiring harness came with RCA ports for the audio input. My headunit had the outputs so I wired it into there. I'm happy with the kit, since it flushes perfectly with the rest of the console.

The wiring kit depends on how you plan to either stick with the Bose amplified speakers (like I did) and just add subwoofers or take out all the speakers and go all-aftermarket.

The DELUXE kit is perfect and I have used this many times on installs I have done... It's funny at the shops I worked at, I was sales manager and even though I "didn't do installs" every Audi that came in the door was mine, I spent countless hours in the dash of many a Bosch Product. Here's a tip: Blaupunkt is Robert Bosch company and will plug directly into all Audis, but make sure that it's a high end deck, or some of your features will not work. This kit really opens up your possibilities for a new head unit...
