Exclamation Front Door Speakers Intermittently Fail

Hi, hope someone can offer some help on this one.

I have a 51 plate A4 Avant with a Concert single CD player and every now and then the front door speakers cut out, to get them to come back I have to turn u the volume and they come back on with a pop.

When I first had the car the Concert system kept cutting out (mostly when going round a corner), after further investigation I found a 20 pence piece inside which kept on shorting out the player. I can't remember if I had the speaker problem before this.

I was wondering if the problem has been caused by the rougue 20 pence or if it is maybe a problem with the amp in the boot.

Any help would be much appreciated

A statement of the obvious perhaps; this sounds like a case of bad connections! I would recommend taking the car to a friendly local garage and get them to pop off the interior trim/door cards and inspect the connections. High quality connectors should not cost the earth (Try Maplin or CPC websites). I always finish off ANY speaker connections in both car or domestic Hi-Fi set ups with a nice little squirt of Servisol Super 10 (Less than £4 and well worth it).

Thanks for the reply, I actually think I have fixed it. I pulled the head unit out and noticed there was some extra wiring, from an old hands free kit that was in the car when I bought it, I think. I removed this wiring and have not had a reoccurance of the problem, well not for the last 3 days since doing the work anyway.keeping my fingers crossed.
