Changing Radio

Hi , I've recently bought a 2001 S4, with a single DIN radio unit. I am also interested to replace this unit with a symphony radio, which I have bought on ebay.
Has anybody had more experience in this, I have read I may need to change the air-con panel, ashtray top, and hazard light control/drink holder... which is more than I bargained for.

Why would you bother? The are basically the same unit. If you want to improve the sound quality, why not:
- Keep your Concert as is
- Replace the front speakers with quality aftermarket 5.25" components (brands to consider: Vibe, Rainbow, MB Quart, Dynaudio, Diamond Audio, Hertz, Focal, Infinity, etc
- Add a nice subwoofer
- Add a good quality 4 channel amplifier (2 channels to drive the front components and 2 channels bridged to drive the subwoofer/s).
