Default Help with Tyres

Ive currently got 18" sline alloys on 2006 A6 3.2 with 245/40zr 18 tyres.

Ive found some 19" le mans edition alloys at a good price. what will be the recommended tyres size for these? ive been recommended the following tyres sizes.

245/35 zr 19 , another tyre dealer has recommended 245/40 zr 19 saying that if i go for the 35 profiles the tyres will look like rubber bands. i think the le mans edition comes with 255/35 zr 19 tyres (if anyone can confirm this), but both tyres dealers say these will not fit.

Also will i have to recode my MMI using vagcom to tell it about the different tyres size.

I have the Le Mans and can confirm that they have 255/35s on them.
You also have to take into account that the 19inch wheels a much easier to scuff because the tyres provide no protection from kerbs/potholes etc.

Have a look here if you need to set your mind at ease:

Tire size calculator

"When your speedo says 60, you are actually doing 60.7"

That's as good as it gets, and you will not need to change any of your coding!

On the grounds your speedo reads optimistically anyway (60 is more like 57) you are doiing fine!

Hope this helps!
