Is the navigation disc TMC compatible?
If it is, it will say TMC on the Disc.
TMC has only been available on the VAG group cars since 2007.
If your navigation disc is from VW-Audi, it can not be older than that.

Is this a new shape A6?

TMC was enabled on the new A6 (C6) around late 2005, I think build week 25.

Two requirements

1. MMI version 2120
2. MMI nav disk ending in AF minimum.

Check your MMI revision by pressing CAR, then VERSION, read the line along the top.

On the old shape A6 (C5) with RNS-E (DVD in the dash) then TMC was enabled Jan 2007 by installing the M revision DVD disk for RNS-Eh

From what I have seen, none of them have TMC written on the disks.

Thanks craig yes it's the new shape A6 ! i have been a idiot then coz due to my lack of patience and understanding i have just bought a twin disc version 2007 8PO 919 884 M off E-Bay when i inserted it the display said insert disc. When i put the original back in the TMC logo shows but no messages when i select setup in the menu it shows TMC filter i select all then below a blank box asking for the TMC station but won't allow me to insert a station. Will i need to buy a new disc ? if so where can i get one at a reasonable price ? MMI version 2120 ? whats that ? sorry for being thick ! version is SWC6-HU635005.0.00413
Thanks again

Your car is running 0500, very old and requires an MMI upgrade for TMC to work correctly. As I said the minimum required was 2120 and now new cars are running 5150.

I would say you get an upgrade and a 2008 disk.

Craig

I will have some 2008 disks next week, £50 at least cheaper than the dealer price. I can upgrade your MMI as well, where abouts are you?

Depends on your dealer to be honest, anything from £250 to £350, they charge what they think they can get away with.

Ask huddersfield Audi for the price of this disk 4E0 060 884 BD, they may not know it as that, so try this part 4E0 919 884 BD

The RRP is £266.62 and I sell them for £200 (ish, I don't have the new prices yet)

I'm in Manchester, so not far from you, if you want to come over for a SW update at some point.
