Clutch Judder

My 2005, A6 C6 2.7tdi manual is suffering from clutch judder when used from cold and when really hot (when stuck in heavy traffic for more than 30 mins) does anyone else have this problem, the car is still under warranty, should I push Audi for a new clutch ?
Let me know if you have had similar problems

Yep, my 2005 2.7 with 47k has begun to judder when cold
didn't give a thought to a warranty issue, just assumed the clutch was on the way out.
be interested to know if you get resolved for free....

there is a modified clutch centre plate for this issue refer to local dealer)

Hi, I have a Audi A6 tdi SLine and suffered from the same problem, mine used to judder in 3rd gear mainly...so i took it bak to Audi bcuz its under warranty and sinc have had my clutch and fly wheel replaced for free under warranty. and some ecu upgrades of software and seems to be fine now.

I can confirm that Audi today diagnosed the problem as a faulty fly wheel and clutch - all the parts have been ordered and are due to be fitted next week - if you have the same problem - push audi for a replacement ! ! I told them that I read of other problems on the forum but had to push them so that they investigated the problem - overwall I have won ! will let you all know once it's been replaced.

I've read alot about clutch judder on this forum.

Does anyone know if a 2005 A6 avant (C6) 2.0 tdi would suffer from this problem ? Most of the owners reporting issues here seem to have larger engined models.

I know this sounds daft, but i'm not exactly sure what clutch judder is. All I know is that sometimes in 1st gear the car shudders a bit when pulling away. Not sure if this is clutch judder, or cr*p clutch control on my behalf !

Any advice welcomed (before my warranty expires !)

If you have this problem and your warranty expiry is getting near - get down the dealer quick as all the parts are on back order with Audi - I have been waiting 3 weeks now for the fly wheel - I hope to have the work done next week though - seems to be a case if you suspect you have a problem - get down the dealer and get them to take a look.

Forgot to add - talking to mate the day - it effects lots of cars this problem as it's to do with the dual mass fly wheel - he works on Vectra's and does about 2-3 a week ! so it's not just audi's that have the fault.

had the clutch and flywheel replaced today - all was looking very promising until I got 3 miles from home when the smell of burning gearbox oil meant I had to switch off the air con and open the windows - limped home and the car has now diposited it's contents of gear box oil all over my nice new tarmac - a call to Audi and it's being picked up on a tow truck tomorrow morning - the saga continues - I will let you all know...

Car is now all back - the main drive shaft seal or someting had failed causing the bad leak - audi assist picked the car up and towed it back to the garage, a hire car was supplied not an audi but a brand new Astra SRI which was nice, and the garage have delivered the car back to my drive, saving me 75 miles of driving which is nice.

Overall not the best fix in the world and it's taken 5 days to resolve the issues but it's back and fixed..

The orignal fault of Clutch Judder has been resolved !
