Default Need help - Wiring and component location

Hi,

I need help from someone who knows, or has access to information, about the wiring and sound amplifier.

I do have MMI Basic+ which uses (I think) the same sound amplifier as MMI High.

The objective is to install a subwoofer and I need to pick up the sound lines.

TIA,

you have a subwoofer in front allready. and you have no chance to install a new SW. not in connection with MMI.

I really don't have BOSE ...

But my sound system (the same in BASIC+ and MMI High) does have that speaker configuration, but without the surround speakers (see attachment).

The problem is that bass isn't deep enought for my likings (don't take me wrong, even the no-BOSE system has a lot of bass, but not as deep as I would like). That's normal when using only 13 cm speakers.
My last car, an VOLVO S80, had much lager speakers (at least 16,5 cm) and the 'box' was the trunk (about 480 l); needless to say it had great bass.

What I really need is to take the signal from "4" (in your attachment) and use it as I would like .

check this out... on ALL AUDIs, you can use a low level input to tap the rear deck speakers, and take the signal from there. It is a very easy installation, and the only issue is getting a power cable through the firewall, and into the trunk. If you have the same MMI that most have, then tap the right rear speaker, it only carries low frequencies.

I'm affraid that's not that simple. I'm starting to think on C6 model (>2005) the bass speakers are on (both) front door panels (as in the BOSE system). I would like to take that signal near the amplifier and not in the doors (near the speaker).

About power cable, that's the easy part - the battery is in the trunk, no need to mess with firewall.

If the amplifier is where my PDF shows it, I only need the wiring diagrams to catch woofers wires.

I will see what I can come up with... if you try to rob the signal from near the amp, good luck there is a series of color coded wires that can become very very confusing. what I would do, is still try to take the signal from the rear bass speakers. I know that you said that they are in the doors, but you can intercept them in the jamb area where the wires come through. Let me see if I can get one into the shop today, so I can take it apart, and then I will get back to you... I forgot that the North American Audis are different from the euro versions... LOL

I thank you in advance.

The rear 'bass' speakers may well be only midrange speakers.

The color coded wires surelly are confusing and that's why a wiring diagram would be welcome .

now i found ! you can take signal from rear speakers, but:

1 because this signal is too high, you need to make him lower. if you don't do this, you'll have no sound, but noise.

2 you need an amp for SW , of course.
