Default Speach control

I have just taken delivery of a fantastic A6 3.0l Quattro Le Mans. I have a question on the voice commands. I am only able to use voice commands for the telephone and nothing else. I have looked at the options and it seems like as I did not go for the GSM phone prep but just the Bluetooth phone connection that you don’t get all the commands. Does anyone know if the other commands to control the CD for example can be activated? Will this have to be done by the dealership and will I have to pay? Thanks

You need to add a voice control module to the radio module in the boot and then disable the voice control in the telephone. Then the new module in the boot will take over all voice control functions.

The phone has SDS (phone only)
The car can have SDS (everything)

If you leave the phone voice control enabled it will clash with the newly installed voice module and the voice control button will stop working.

Thanks thats very helpful. I forgot to say that I have an Avant, is the unit still in the boot? Looked on your web site for the unit and can’t see anything. Is this an item that I can just get from a dealer and fit myself? Many thanks

I don't have it on my website, but it is still in the boot regardless of the car, A5/A6/A8/Q7 it's inside the radio module which is in the boot.

You can buy one and install it, but you will need some coding to remove the phone setting and add the new module in.

I have them in stock and charge £359 fitted.

From the dealers they are £646.49 to buy
