Some will not let you update, if it will not, buy a new one and recode it from scratch. That's what I do in older A8's

Craig

Thanks for your valuable comments once again. Would you be able to change this coding for me (and if so any indication of cost)?

Audi dealership says that they know nothing about this (no surprise there!) and it can only be done on cars at the time of build.

Mine is a 2006 car, DVD nav and MMI high - reversing sensors only.

Thanks in advance, Paul.

Paul

It's 50/50 if it will owrk or not, certainly on many new cars it just works.

Thank you very much Dal (Audi-SLine) for activing my reversing display on the MMI.
The Hereford dealership were as usual unable or is that Un-willing to help.
All they can say is: It's a factory option that cannot be retro-fitted.
What a lot of B*****ks. It took Dal less than 2 minutes to get it coded and working.

Again Dal, THANKS A LOT. If anyone wants it doing, send him a PM.

even if its a 50 / 50 chance its still worth giving it ago, i spoke to a number of dealers they said it cant be done, but they can supply and fit the required parts for about £600.00. they must know that some controllers can be upgraded. even if people decided to pay that sort of money to the dealers, i dont think the dealer would refund any money back should they discover that your car is the one with an ungradeable controller.

Most audi dealers will also tell you that a navigation cant be retrofitted and can only be installed at factory, and we all know that it can be easily upgraded.

Asking the correct person in the dealers helps as most calls goto the reception and they cant be expected to understand code changes so try to speak to the master tech
