Default Auto Lights coming on in daylight

On my audi A6 the auto headlights come on it the day light and I get flashed by other on-coming cars.
Does anyone else have the same problem with their lights coming on in daylight conditions ? is there a fix ?

Where are you from? In Canada it is the law to have your lights on at all times. Most late model cars in North America have this.

I am from the UK. The lights come on if I drive through a dark lane etc and then back into bright conditions the lights fail to turn back off

I still get this problem - does anyone know where the sensor is that picks up the light levels ?

Does this mean if my car is dirty the sensor will not work - where abouts on the bumper is the sensor ?
