Exclamation Severe loss of power above ~2800rpm and ABS light on

I just replaced the power steering pump on my 2001 2.7 A6, and although the whine has gone I've now got a MUCH worse problem.

When I get up to about 2800 rpm or get on the throttle at all the engine sort of cuts out every second or so. Sometimes the ABS and traction control lights come on as well. I've obviously upset something, but what?

In order to replace the pump, I had to remove the hard plastic intake pipes and the intake Y piece. This included unplugging the connector above the Y piece. I also got a *little* power steering fluid on the connectors next to the power steering fluid reservoir, but it was so little I doubt it got anywhere near the connections.

I don't have a check engine light up. Are codes stored even without this?

Many Thanks for any help you can give - I really don't know how to proceed with this....

Graham

Doh!

It turned out that I hadn't tightened the clamp holding the Y connector onto the throttle body tightly enough, and there was a big air leak. All sorted now, many thanks for the help.
