Default What were the production numbers for the 1998 Audi A6

Hi there, I'm new here, I was offered a 1998 Audi A6 in good condition with around 80,000 miles by a audi mechanic, it is his mothers car who died, "hit by a drunk driver" so he wants to sell it for around $5000 to $6500, give or take a few $$$, he says this car is a "98 Audi A6 Quatrro Euro Spec. Gray Market Import out of Canada" which he says is rare, can anybody give any production #s for the 1998 A6 Quatrro and can anyone ellaborate on this?

Thanks in advance!

yeah sorry, seems as if only a few actually read these threads and offer any sort of help. I googled a bit but couldn't really find an exact number, but if it's a good deal on a car, why would production numbers mean anything?

Well I was asking because I was told that this 98 A6 was purchased in Germany and than shipped to the US via Canada and it is a "Euro Spec" car meaning it should have all of the options of a 1998 Audi A6 Quatrro made for Europe but was shipped to the US and should meet the US specs also, am I making any since here?

So I was thinking about production #s for 1998 Audi's including ones shipped to the US that way.

I'm sure not many were done that way, and there may be differances in the cars made for Europe and the ones made for the US.
