Question audi headlight washers

how do you work the headlight washers on the 98 audi a6?

With the headlamps on operate the windscreen washers for more than 2 seconds and hold.

afstud6900 is on a distinguished road

whenever i clean the windsheild with out the headlights on at all, the headlight washers still spray. you dont need the headlights on. just make sure you hold it down for about 3-5 seconds

They should only work with the headlights on in the UK market

well on the US models they work w.o the headlights on my friends does the same.
