2001 a6 2.7t MIL on bit more noisy idle

As mentioned above, I have an A6 2.7t. My check engine light, or from what I've been reading (MIL), is illuminated. It doesn't flash..Just stays solid. Also, my idle seems to be a bit louder than normal, but the car doesn't seem to shake from it. I've checked the gas cap (some other forums was suggesting that's often the issue), and it seems to be fine. Anyone have any suggestions for me? Thanks,

Its probably your exhaust i had that happen when my cat. went.
