Default water leak

i seem to have a water leak in my 98 A6 in the rear passenger well is this a common fault????? also cud this b the door seal???

Common leak is the front passenger well, where the pleumn chamber overflows when the drain plug gets blocked.

Could be water runnnig back from that

Hey - was that the problem?? I have the same thing too - started in passenger front footwell, is now in rear footwells too....arrgghhh....how did you solve problem?

remove battery, clean drain hole below battery base, replace battery is the normal method.

In service we are currently removing the rubber drain completely as a campaign. There is a modified pollen filter housing for these cars complete with seal although I would recommend adding some silicon sealant to this. The only way to get that floor covering dry is to take it out and hang it up, you will be amazed how much water it will soak up.
