2002 A6 2.7T Purchase Advise

I am looking for an AWD sedan that is roughly 4-5 years old. My decision is between an 04 G35, 02 A6, and a FWD Maxima. I think I found the A6, it has 52k with excellent paint and interior, loaded with most everything, but NAV, DVD and rear air bags. It comes with the 100k parts/labor warranty on everything that will not wear, so I am covered if I blow the turbos.

The dealer is asking 20,900, would it be reasonable to think I can could this car with an offer of $17500 or so? Any advise on what to beware of when looking at the car? It drove really nice other than the shimmying that took place because wears were fullof snow, so another ride will be had before any real offer, but everything else was good.

I have an opportunity get the previously noted A6 with 2.7T or a 2002 A6 (same options but also NAV) with 4.2. The 4.2 actually has 10k less miles (43k vs, 53 on the 2.7T) and I can get either for around 20k.

What is the general consensus on life expectancy of a 2.7T vs. the 4.2. What is the better motor? I know the 4.2 was a more expensive version, but did it have issues?

if it has lower miles and price is the same, get 4.2 you won't regret it. It's an amazing engine, plus i'm sure it has more options.. Check that 4.2 out a little better, they should be more expensive then 2.7T.
