Does anyone have detailed instructions that can be posted or e-mailed (toolagit2qwit@yahoo.com) for replacing the cam seals? While I am in there, should I consider replacing anything else? My local Audi mech quoted $1200 = 12hrs labor time.
1998 A6 2.8 I would be incredibly grateful for you kindness. |

I found instructions by a doing a web search (2.8)- I figured I would share for those who may have the same issue. The DIYer makes it seem pretty easy to repair-8-12hrs for an intermediate DIYer.
Please add or forward comments/recommedations/Tips to the attached document (socket sizes, tools needed, etc.). It contains pix of the process. I have read that the seals will inevitably fail again due to constant temp. flux causing the seals to shrink and not return to their original size. Can someone recommend using an aftermarket seal that won't shrink ala OEM? Thanks in advanced for your help! [attachmentid=619] |
