Remote Starters For A6

I am interested in installing remote controlled start functionality in my [yet to receive, but hopefully on the boat] '05 A6. My understanding is that this is not (and never will be?) a factory option, but after-market installers indicate that they have to bury the valet key in the dash. The reason I was given relates to the remote/key. Not sure if it makes a difference, but I have also ordered the keyless ignition option.

Does anyone have any advice, insight or experience they can share?

the reason they would need to 'burry' the valet key in the dash is because the car will not start without a signal from the imobilizer. when installing a remote start the car's immobilizer is pretty much disabled.

With the new keyless entry systems, would I just be giving the car over to a poential thief?

not exactly sure how the new system works asfar as a technical standpoint... i'm not even sure if you could do a remote start with the keyless entry system.
