Hi All:
I'm new at this so be gental. I just purchased a used 2001 Q A6 4.2 with ~60K miles. I love this car. What a rocket! Anyway, I'm taking my first extended drive today and the ride seems like the tires are out of balance above 75MPH. I know the ride is much stiffer than I'm used to (traded a Trailblazer) but is there a alignment issue that I need to know about? The steering does vibrate slightly under these conditions but hands off braking is very straight.
Thanks

sounds like you have an alignment issus.. probably just need to have your tires aligned. 75mph should feel like 20... my A6 flew at 130mph for about 30 minutes with no shudder or vibration.

Thanks! I'll have it checked as soon as I return home.

Amazing what tire balancing can do! This thing is on rails now.
Thanks for all the help.
