Default Hello, I am new

Hi

I collected my C4 A6 2.6 V6 SE yesterday

Manual gearbox, sports electric cloth seats, plus quite a few other options

My impressions so far, a very good solid car, the engine actually has a little more pull than I was expecting.

Previous Audis owned are :- Audi 100 GL5S, Audi 200 Turbo, Audi Coupe 16V

Will post some pics of the car once the weather has picked up and Im able to clean it properly

by 2.6 you mean 2.8, correct?

welcome to the forums! It's not really a lively one here, but there are a couple people who will help out where its possible. So hows the manual gearbox? i hate my auto, its quite possibly the least fun ive ever had to drive it! must... shift...

I actually would have prefered an auto gearbox, just for my journey to work, heavy traffic, stop start etc

However, the manual is a great gearbox, not as vague as previously Audis I have owned, linked to the V6 you dont have to be changing gear all the time either

Hi 96a6v6,

I also have a 96 2.6 V6 (12V) very happy with it apart from the odd electrical querk, which I have described on another thread. Welcome!

To answer The Turtle's question I believe the 2.6 V6 was available on the C4 but stopped for the model change in 1997.

Hi

I am a UK member and available to us in the C4 A6 shape was a petrol 2.6 V6.

This engine was replaced by the 30V 2.4 in 97, when the C5 shape A6 was introduced

I always thought the 2.6 would not be worthwhile as 150bhp just didnt sound much

However, the performance is much better than I was expecting, fuel economy is good too, on my commute into London I regularly see up to 30mpg
