Exclamation 1996 S6QT Auto-AAN lump CKL Box Is there a diesel that will match? Help!

I have a cracking '96 S6 turbo Quattro.2.2 auto.It has no longer become practical to run -Irish fuel prices maintenance costs etc.I am looking at maybe converting to diesel and I know that there were '96 2.5 TDI Quattro models but am wondering if there would be much involved in converting. The lump is an AAN type 5 cyl. and the box is the CKL type auto. If there is anyone who can help me I would be very grateful. This is my first time posting anything so if I have not followed protocol my apologies!
