Default Air Bag Light

I own a 2002 audi a4 1.8t quattro- recently i had to remove the back 3/4 split seat to install my subwoffer box, i had no choice but to disconnect the yellow air bag connection, upon reconecting, the air bag light stays on, i was at the dealer today and they reset it, now they said if it came back on that the rear center seat belt would need to be replaced and that part alone costs 238+labor! Supposedly the light was out, till they pulled it around, does this sound correct, just from unhhooking it, how would i know if they are correct, how do i know they really reset it with their snapon? any suggestions??? thanks Christian

Personal I would buy an ebay usb VAG lead download VAGCOM free software off Rosstec and reset it your self.

The problem may just be a bad connection which in typical Audi steps they will not repair or replace without replacing the whole unit.

If it is that bad and needs to be replaced get one from the breakers and swap it in your self.

All they have to do is do a clear all faults to reset everything but you can also use the old dissconnect the Battery for an hour and reconnect to do the same thing but make sure you have the code for the Radio or you will have another problem.
