I have a 2006 A4 2.0T S line Special Edition 220 BHP. Just recently bought the car and had someone do a full system scan with VAG com and it gives the following faults:-
yes the manifold flap will be out of spec so a reduction in power should be a symptom. To inspect the manifold its a bit tricky but the motor and the wiring require eliminating prior to this

Very good... he didn't have a lisp, maybe the technician did when he conveyed it to the service advisor... or maybe he had bad hand writing...
Could you explain what the 'runner' does exactly? I am guessing this is the system of flaps that cover the inlet ports on the manifold??? And the flaps are opened and shut by a motor that sits on the end of the spindle they are attached to??? And this motor is whats broken?
Sorry for the questions, I am just keen to know the issue... and obviously keen to get a first time fix from them ;-)
OK, Audi have fitted the new part... they were vague about what was fitted... and the invoice was fairly non descript... The service advisor said that the flap / motor and controller was all one part..... (there was only one part on the invoice) ... A8 tech, do you know if this is the case?
I will try and get my friend to VAG com it again... just to ensure no more faults have returned this time..
The power of the car is certainly up since the repair... generally just more lively... which is good...
