Need Advice. . Please Help!

Hello all,

I'm in the market for a new (actually used, but new to me) car and am thinking about a 2006 A4 Quattro. I think they're beautiful cars and I love the thought of Quattro and good hwy gas mileage (I commute 100 miles each day to work, so this is key).

My concern is that I have friends that have had problems with their Audis and it makes me a bit reluctant. My thought is that for every person that has had a bad Audi experience, there are about 10 who have had a great one. That's what I"m hearing from the people I talk with, at least. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of things to look out for when looking for a 2006 A4. I found one with 18K miles and asking $25K for, which I thought was a really good deal.

Does anyone have any thoughts or warnings for me. If so, are there any other cars anyone would recommend for me? As I stated, AWD and mpg are key (as is styling and luxury mixed in). Thanks for your help!!

i have an 07 a4. this is my first audi. did a fair amount of research before i bought. i'm not an expert , but from my research i would say that you would be golden w/ that 06 a4 (just have it checked out by a reputable mechanic). audi as a brand had some reliability problems in years past (especially when you got over 60k miles and a6's seemed to review worse than a4s), but the newer models review well (consumer reports). i love mine. my cousin has a 2000 a4 w/ 90k+ and only good reviews... go for it!
