Default 2006 Audi A4 Need to replace the bulb on my fog light

I have a 2006 Audi A4, the bulb for my fog light burnt out and I’m trying to replace it. I have read many places that you can remove the plastic cover to gain access to the fog light by holding down two clips on the back. Can anyone elaborate on this please. I have tried many times with no luck. Thanks in advance for any help

Picture is what I found on another posting that I assuming the clips are located at.

I've read this re the TRIM: QUOTE Each side has two clips or catches on the top. Reach your fingers in there and pull down on them and out at the same time. Its comes out easy enough if you find both clips.

THEN i suspect you need to remove three (probably TORX) screws to get the actual lamp unit out.

Hey tru2hapi....I had a similar problem, but further compounded by the fact that my fog light lens was also broken so I had to replace the whole unit.

Here is what I learned (my car is a US model ) On the US cars there is NO logical way to access the rear of the fog light assembly without removing the entire lower bumper! The main reason being the stupid lights are basically installed backwards, thereby eliminating any chance of servicing them from the front by removing said plastic trim.

I took a stab at removing the lower bumper and stopped myself before I broke something more expensive, and let my Audi shop fix it...about $120, not counting the bulb.

Another way I tried was to remove the belly pans under the engine, however once done you will find that the intercoolers are conveniently blocking access to the bulb harness.

The only thing I have heard that is positive, but can't verify is that if your hands are small enough, apparently you can reach in & around the intercooler vents enough to twist open the bulb harness....good luck!
