Annoying Glove Box

I purchased an 05.5 S4, with Navigation and CD changer in glove box. It seems that something is wrong with the glove box, as when you open it, it quickly flips down about 1/4 of the way then takes forever to open the rest of the way. Dealer told me this was common for cars with CD Changer, but I met a guy with the same car and he has what I would call a normal glove box. Also, it is hard to shut the glove box. It seems that it is misaligned or something is wrong with the glove box. Problem is the dealer I purchased the car from is a good ways away, and they don't even acknowledge the problem.

Anyone know if it could be a slipped gear or if there is some sort of alignment adjustment on the box? This glove box is about to drive me Crazy.

There is a damper on the end hinge behind the dash plastic end trim, this siezes up causing the lid to become difficult to open, new ones are cheap and easy to replace.
