Default Flickering HID Issue

I've owned my S4 for about 6 weeks now. Recently I've noticed that the left HID headlamp is occasionally flickering... I'm wondering if this is a problem with the system or if its just the bulb? If its the bulb, should I replace them both at the same time? I've heard that the system shares current across both sides so I just want to make sure that I fix this 'once'. Lastly, I've taken a cursory glance at the units in the engine bay and it doesn't look like it's an easy thing to replace the bulbs. Is this something I can tackle myself without too much hassle or is it something better left for a mechanic/dealer?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Hey--I had the same issue with my oem HID's. Before you know it, the other side will probably start to flicker. I changed the bulbs and then the flickering stopped.....For about 4 months, and now they are flickering again, and last night the drivers side blew out for good. I dont understand it---Maybe the bulbs I got were cheapies????

I had the same problem, i took it to Audi and they informed me that was indeed a problem. Its on the "audi tech forums" .... anyways they ordered me a replacement part for something and it works fine now.

There is a 'driver' unit which supplies the HV to the bulbs - it's often that that plays up. So replacing the bulbs ad infinitum might not be the answer.
