Hello All,
Just bought a 2.0T Q 6spd Im having some problems with the wheels and fitment. I bought some 18" ADR propulsion that I was told would fit the car and my front brakes did not clear the rim, I told them about it and they said get a spacer . I returned the rims and thought I would research this issue a little further. He said Audis are known for there rim fitment issues.![]() Part of the reason why I wanted the new rims was because there seems to be a dirt or grime stain on the rim that I cant remove. When buying the car I thought it was just brake dust that would come off but it did not .Any help on either item would be appreciated, I have read some interesting threads and value the opinions given by the Audi guru's. Thanx |

i also had some fitment issues... fitting aftermarket wheels can be tricky. here is what i can tell you.
- on a b7 a4, your offset range is 35-42mm - bolt pattern is 5x112 (you already know that) - the widest wheel you should put is 8.5" - the tire size you use is dependent on your vehicle (aftermarket suspension, aftermarket brake kit, etc.) if your vehicle is lowered you could play it safe with 235 tyres, but 245's would fit as well. - with some mods, inc. spacers and/or wheel well liner modifications, and proper tire selection, you can make a lot of different wheels fit. i guess the moral of the story is that its complicated. but i just got finished going through it, so if you have any specific questions, let me know and i might be able to help you out. unfotunately, if you purchase a wheel with all the right specs, its not necessarily going to fit out of the box. audi's have big brakes stock, so unless you are buying wheels specifically made for audi, there is a good chance you may have to make some mods. good luck. ps - check out VMR Wheels by Velocity Motoring - Aluminum Alloy Wheels for German Cars. they make wheels specifically for audis and test fit them to assure proper fit. |
