Dear all,
I've got an '07 Bose Symphony (in dash 6-disc) with iPod connector in the glove compartment. I am of the understanding that I will not be able to fit a bluetooth prep unless I've got the DVD/SatNav headset (and as such, am not able to use the mutifunction steering wheel's buttons). In any case, I'm sure it will be a lot more expensive than a third party unit (Nokia/ SonyEricsson), which leads me to my question. Has anyone fitted a third party bluetooth unit (I've got a Nokia phone - E65) in their A4 and do you have any tips on what model to use and which one is best. The two important things to me are: (i) audio mute; and (ii) an 'answer' button that is 'small' and well 'tucked away' (on the basis that the steering wheel button will not work). Finally - because I have a convertible, does anyone have any experience or tips on where the mic should be located (especially for top down operation) and also back to what make and model handsfree is good for the A4 Cab. Any tips are most welcomed. Oh yeah - and where to buy would help too, especially if it's a mobile fitter (central london). Thanks in advance!! |

Hi,
I have the same as you (Symphony II+ and BOSE) and I just fitted OEM Audi Bluetooth. Recoded the steering wheel and the DIS. I bought it off ebay for a steal - £150... So it can be done! I can post links to some guides I used, if you want... On the other hand, if you want to go down the 3rd party route, have a look at the Parrot stuff, especially the Parrot Multican as this will interface with the s/w controls. One thing it won't do, which the OEM kit does: 1) Numbers / phonebook in the DIS 2) Reduce the AC fan speed when you are using the 'phone HTH, fM |
