Default Worried car will not start

I had an issue a while back where my 2005 Audi A4 2.0TDi would not start one morning. It had nothing to do with the battery and the call-out Audi mechanic got it going by bleeding the fuel line. No faults showed up in the diagnostic. He said if it happened again to bring it in. It hasn't in 4 weeks. However, when I start the car, it always takes a different amount of "effort" to get it going. Sometimes it fires up immediately, other times it turns a bit, and then fires up. I don't feel confident with it. I used to have a 1.9TDi 2002 VW Passat, and never had this occasional sluggishness in starting up. I love everything about the car, but would appreciate any views on what I might be experiencing.
Thanks
