Default Extended Warranty Cost?

Hey Guys,

Just grabbed myself a 2006 A4 2.0 with 49k miles. I checked car fax and it is clean. I checked through my friend who is the dealer I bought it from and he said the car was tip-top shape. I then brought it into Audi a few days ago and was told the car has been serviced on time every time and is in excellent condition minus a replacement of blades and tires.

SO, I went to speak with their warranty department and he quoted me the following and I was wondering if someone can give me some input as to whether or not this is too high, on avg or low.

$4600 tax included 4 yr/100k Bumper to Bumper.
$460 down and $240/month for 15 months.

My brother in-law suggests that I go with a 3yr/100k because he suggested that if I drive 15k miles a year I would be adding on 60k miles in just over three years. Thus, not benefiting from the payment of the 4th year because my miles will run out first.

Thanks in advanced.

In the UK you would get 3 years manufacturers warranty from Audi as standard but im not sure about the US so the car may still be covered till 2009 so in my opinion its not worth shelling out for a independant warranty till that one expires

Thanks T-Sport, but my warranty is up 4 yrs / 50k miles. If you notice in my message, I am just about to hit the 50k mile marker and will need to extend. This is why I am concerned about what I am being quoted. Just trying to make sure I get the best rate possible.

Thanks for your assistance though

I must amend my first post s well... it's a 3yr/100k for $3774+ tax NOT 4yr/100k.

Seems a bit much to me. Anyways, I'm still waiting for other Audi dealers to call me back. When I get the pricing, I'll post it here so everyone can get an idea how much it is.

Doesn't anyone around here have extended warranties in the US? lol. If so, please speak up
