New B7 Audi A4 Owner With Questions

Hello to all my fellow Audi owners

I have recently taken delivery of my second Audi, a A4 2.0TDi (170) S Line Special Edition.

The car is an absolute stormer, the engine is so much better than the 140bhp 2.0TDi in my A3 Sport.

As a new owner I do have some questions regarding the vehicle and am hoping that the vast amount of knowledge on this forum can help me answer them so here goes...

1. My car is fitted with folding door mirrors does anyone know if it is possible to modify these so that they fold/unfold when the doors are locked/unlocked using the key?

2. Has anyone fitted a HID Xenon Conversion Kit to a B7 A4. I was somewhat dissapointed about the amount of light given off by the standard bulbs in the A4 and am now considering upgrading the bulbs. My old A3 was fitted with Philips power bulbs which were great but I am thinking about a HID conversion for the A4. Has anyone tried this if so are they any good and are there any companies or brands you could recommend for the conversion kit.

3. And finally the one option I miss from my A3 is the coming home function which turns on the headlights when you either lock/unlock the car in the dark. The A4 does a similar job but only with the fog lights the option to do this with the headlights was only available if you purchased the Xenon lights. Does anyone know if it is possible to rewire the headlamps so they turned on with the fog lights at all?

Glad you like the car. Funnily enough, when I bought my A4 Avant TDI 140 the dealer actually disuaded me from going for the TDI 170 in spite of the fact that I was placing a factory order and was willing to pay the extra. I have since driven a 170 and could see the difference, but I wouldn't have said it was vastly better than the 140, other than slightly quieter idling. I have a couple of work colleagues who have cars with this engine, and they are complaining of heavy fuel consumption, how's yours ?
