I want to add cruise control to my A4 - I know that I need to remove the steering wheel and there is a "large" torx bolt/nut - can anyone give me the size?
I don't want to strip it down, find that I don't have the right size, and then need to re-build the wheel - just to go and buy a new torx socket! regards BB |

Think air bag is size 30 and the steering wheel is a multispline about 12mm.Must stop you as you cant just stick as switch on you may have to replace the steering column electrics also and code it also you will have to adapt engine control unit to enable the function.I will look what size my torx bit is and multispline tommorow

A8 tech is right. Airbag is 30 and steering wheel nut triple square 12mm. Make sure you have some small torx like 10 or 15; you need them to remove a module to insert the cc switch.
You also need the lower panel that goes behind steering wheel since the 1 on your car now don't have the "hole" for the cruise control switch Also, as A8 tech said, make sure you have access to vag-com to turn the function on(and to clear falut codes) |
