Hi folks,
I have a 6 month old A4, and I have an irritating vibration whenever car is moving away from a still position forwards or in reverse with wheels slightly turned or at full lock, the judder travels right up through the accelerator and goes when speed reaches about 10mph. It sounds like its either a drive shaft problem or power steering prob. Anyone had the same issues, its due for its first service next week but the service tech sounded quite blase when I described it and said everyone gets that because of the power steering pump is working hard, I think that sounds like rubbish, I have owned Mercs and BMW's and never experienced this before. Appreciate the feedback |

The power steering pump will make a "graunching" kind of noise, when forced on full lock, either stationary or moving. Wind back some of the lock slightly, and the noise should disappear.
The vibration you describe is a common wheel alignment/geometry issue - get it checked and adjusted. You may need to find a specialist who has relevent experience, as the multi-link front and rear suspensions can be a right pain in the ar$e to get spot on, and many Audi main stealers manage to get it wrong!

There is currently a modified p.a.s return pipe for this issue. The p.a.s fluid suffers from small air bubbles when returning through restriction valves, causing vibration/drowning.Ring audi and explain fault , check your production date not sale date with them so parts can check if modified pipe was fitted at production line of not,to rule this repair option out.Best Regards Jon
